What is Rift?
Rift is the name of the first release expansion of the game Crystal Core. The Rift is also what has shaped the world of Crystal Core and set the tone of the current story. 300 years ago a great cataclysm tore a giant scar into the planets surface. All over the world of Al'Karus crystal cores exploded, bringing an apocolypse down on the civilization.
What are the factions?
In the world of Crystal Core there are 4 main groups or "factions" competing for power. A player can choose to create a deck using cards from one of these factions. If a player uses cards only from one faction, they will gain a faction bonus to their deck. These 4 factions are: Al'Kari, Prion, Serv, Kularr. ←Learn More
How do I get better cards?
In Crystal Core there are many ways to obtain new and better cards. First a player can battle to earn [Battle Points]. With Battle Points you can buy new packs of cards or you can buy additional packs of cards for only $0.99 USD with in-app purchases. To get exactly what you are looking for you can trade your card for another card. Lastly you can take any two cards and forge them into a new card.
What is Simultaneous Gameplay?
Unique to Crystal Core TCG, both players make their actions at the same time. Usually in other TCG's both players take turns going back and forth. The iPhone has allowed us to create an environment that allows both players to play each turn at the same time. This speeds up game time and really brings you into the action.
How does Eko work?
Eko is the measurement of energy you have per turn to perform actions. When you choose a Core, your Core has a large amount of Eko (example: 18 eko). When you build a Mech each [Part] reduces the amount of Eko. In your starter deck the sum of parts is 15 Eko, leaving you with 3 Eko. This 3 Eko is the maximum amount of energy that you can use per turn. If a [Part] is destroyed in battle then that number is increased by 1. At the begining of each turn both players have 2 Eko. This is because each player has a core and they are resonating off of eachother (1 + 1 = 2). When a player Gate Summons an [Assist] unit, many with an Eko bonus, it may increase the available Eko in play up to the maximum available eko.
Explain Protection Bonus?
The protection bonus is integral to our unique game mechanic. Protection Bonus reduces damage made from attacks. A players Mech starts with [0] Protection bonus at the beginning of each battle. The exception is; if a player had a special faction bonus or a [Part]/[Core] that added to their protection bonus. Each [Assist] unit that a player has in play will increase their Mechs protection bonus by [+1] unless otherwise noted on the card or an effect. Gate Summoned units are un-useable the turn that they are placed into the deployment zone. Some [Assist] units have [Protect x] "x" will add to a players protection score. It may require each player to take out each others deployed units before attempting to attack the opponents Mech.
What is the difference between a Ranked Match and an Unranked Match?
In a Ranked Match a player has [45 seconds] per turn. A player will also earn more battle points and gain EXP (Experience). EXP will level you up and make sure that you are playing against players of your level. In an Unranked Match you still earn battle points, but you do not earn any EXP. Each turn you have [60 seconds] to decide all your actions.
